Glossary

Graphic tablet: A computer input device in the form of a tablet that enables the user to control the computer by drawing on the surface of the tablet with a stylus. Used to hand-draw digital images, graphics, animations, etc.

 

Drawing monitor: A computer input device in the form of a monitor that enables the user to control the computer by drawing on its surface with a stylus. Used to hand-draw digital images, graphics, animations, etc.

 

Stylus: A device similar to a pen. It is used to write or draw input on touch-sensitive devices.

 

Ctrl-Z: Shortcut key combination for ‘undo’ in most applications.

 

Blending mode: A commonly used tool for image editing featured in most graphic editing programs. It is an additional layer that determines the way two layers blend and react to each other.

 

Multiply blend/multiply layer: A type of blending mode. It is usually used to darken a picture by multiplying the pixel values of the upper layer with the layer below it.
